Northbound Restaurant Project | Souderton, PA
The Northbound Restaurant Project is the second location for the owners of The Butcher & Barkeep in Harleysville, PA. This gastropub type concept was developed in an old train station so a meticulous interior renovation was completed to not just add a fully functioning commercial kitchen and bar, but also to ensure the aesthetic of the old train station motif stayed intact.
The objective of this project was to utilize the new construction aspect of the building for the culinary operations and the existing station building itself for the bar and dining areas. Mise Designs worked very closely with the restaurant owners to disturb as little of the original building as possible. The major challenge with this restaurant kitchen design approach was that the commercial kitchen and bar areas are on opposite sides of the building, so it was very important to ensure both areas can be self-sufficient from a storage and facilitates standpoint. Mise Designs was responsible for design and layout of the kitchen, service and bar areas, as well as the supply and installation of all foodservice, bar and walk-in refrigeration equipment.
